Flowers fade, dinner is digested. A day counter stays on the Home Screen and the Lock Screen: every time your partner wakes their iPhone, they see how many days you've been together. It's a quiet, personal gift that takes up no room.
How the gift card works
You create your counter in Ensemble, then invite your partner from Settings. The invitation goes out through Messages as a card: "Léa is giving you Ensemble," with your own first name. You choose the day it opens, for example February 14. Until then the card and the widget stay closed: the number is only revealed on the date you chose.
On the day, one tap opens the card and shows the number. You can send the invitation in advance: your partner sees the gift, but not the number yet.
What "giving" means here
To be precise: this is not a purchase gifted through the App Store. Sharing for two is part of Pro. You buy Pro once, and it applies to the shared counter: your partner enjoys it without paying. One purchase for the two of you. Your partner needs an iPhone or iPad running iOS 26, signed in to iCloud; there's no Ensemble account to create.
The simplest option for a gift is the lifetime plan: one payment, no subscription to remember to cancel.
Going further
After February 14 the counter keeps going. It sends a notification at 100 days, 500 days, 1,000 days and every anniversary, and the life line keeps your big dates: the day you met, the first restaurant, moving in.
Free or Pro
The gift needs Pro, because sharing for two is part of it. The counter itself stays free for whoever receives it: they pay nothing.
Ensemble Pro: €1.99 a month, €9.99 a year, or €19.99 once, forever. The App Store shows prices in your local currency; subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period.
